Blog for AEIS students on 14/08/09

AEIS Math Date: 14/08/2009
Day: Tuesday Students present: Michael, William, Susan, and Henry
Teacher: Jimmy
Subject: Math Topic: Coordinates and linear graph.

Concepts taught:· Recapped y=mx+c to the senior students.Explained how gradients can be obtained by (y2-y1)/(x2-x1).Went to derive the equation of the line.

Comments on students:It’s susan first lesson with linear graphs and coordinates.Able to sub in x into the equation(y=mx+c).Able to evaluate any points on a line given the equation.Did q2 on page 113.All can reach part b. They questioned about the workability of C and b. Explained that C=an+b must be compared to y=mx+c.

Improvement:Practise more questions on graph paper so as to familarise themselves on which point to plot.

Homework:pg 123(q 26a,b,c,d)
